As a Facilities Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and assuring the quality of critical systems like initial and ongoing quality of such systems as fire protection, smoke control, oxygen displacement monitoring, water quality, overhead safety, and more.. The role is unique, not only because of the diversity of systems and projects but also because our engineers are involved as thought partners from the earliest stages of development and are empowered to take action on ongoing projects and maintenance.

The Facilities Senior Quality Engineer will report to Manager, Quality Engineering.

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Facilities Senior Quality Engineer, you might:

  • Spearhead and partner with other departments in the development of processes and procedures for the assessment and maintenance of facility assets, including compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Develop an inspection program to examine and assess the structural attributes throughout the resort, including structural supports and foundations, buildings, free-standing structures, bridges, wind and seismic integrity, and other structural elements constructed from a combination of steel, wood, and concrete.
  • Implementation and maintenance of the inspection scopes of work for contracted structural inspections and assurance of compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Review results of contracted and internal structural inspections of facilities and provide engineering dispositions for minor findings resulting from those inspections.
  • Review and assess alignment of requirements and frequency between internal documentation such as Facility Requirements, Operating Guides, Job Plans, and maintenance criteria.
  • Participate in hazard analysis and design reviews for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Provide general Engineering support to internal partners, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and others as required.
  • Assist with the completion of all necessary documentation, including but not limited to drawings, procedures, training, and certification to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by Cast and Guests.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Engineering, showing increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven experience inspecting structures including, but not limited to, foundations, overhead installations, buildings and facades, pedestrian and transportation amenities, fall protection anchor points, and other load bearing elements.
  • Experience with design, construction, installation, inspection and/or commissioning of facility safety systems that meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex data relationship in concise and straight forward presentations.
  • Ability to manage, balance, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to work after hours and off-shift hours as required.
  • Familiarity with industry and regulatory standards (ASTM, SAE, state, or federal codes).

Preferred Qualifications

It would be great if you also have:

  • Professional Engineer’s License or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of amusement park experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Smartsheet, AirTable, Maximo, and electronic document management systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Fire Protection Engineering or related field
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering or Construction Management.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA. is $102,000.00 - $136,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
