KFSN-TV, the ABC Owned and Operated Television station in Central California, has an immediate opening for an Executive Producer to help lead our team. The market’s long-time #1 news team is seeking an innovative leader with superior news judgment to drive the gathering, creation and distribution of engaging, compelling content. This person manages content for digital and linear in conjunction with other news managers. This person will excel by executing big-picture goals while focusing on the details with daily content coverage. They will inspire the news team to produce enterprise content for linear, digital and social with storytelling that is optimized for each screen. They will also play a key role in expanding viewership on streaming platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise newscast and digital producers and writers and provide consistent feedback
- Contribute strategic content and showcasing ideas in editorial meetings and beyond
- Collaborate with assignment editors and digital producers on multi-platform breaking news coverage
- Copyedit linear and digital scripts and graphics to ensure they are accurate and engaging
- Work with marketing team to ensure the brand promise is met with our multi-platform content
- Foster a positive workplace environment and encourage a collaborative spirit
- Perform other tasks as required by the Vice President of News.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in local television/news production.
- The ideal candidate must have a keen understanding of multi-platform strategy, a track record of breaking news success and thrive in a very competitive environment.Â
- Must be a proven leader with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Must be organized and work well under pressure with constant deadlines
- Experience producing dynamic newscasts with story showcasing and multiple live elements
- Must be flexible and comfortable working variable hours, including overnights, weekends, and holidays as neededÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Central Valley and bilingual skills are a plus.
Preferred Education:
- College degree and previous management experience preferred
The hiring range for this position in Fresno, CA is $81,700 to $109,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
